Guided rides – England & Wales

Hi, I’m Steve. Mountain biking has been a defining part of my life since 1993.

I started out on a Claud Butler back when mountain bikes were simple—thin tubes, basic components, and a lot of determination. What began as a passion quickly became a lifelong pursuit, shaped by decades of riding, learning, and exploring the trails.

In 2019, I decided to turn that passion into a profession, retraining as a British Cycling Mountain Bike Leader. I qualified in 2020 and founded New Forest Cycling Tours the same year. Today, I’m proud to share the trails I love, guiding riders of all abilities through unforgettable off-road adventures.

For me, it’s always been about the ride, the landscape, and the experience – and that’s exactly what I aim to deliver every time.

When work stops, the riding begins. I spend my free time mountain biking in the French and Swiss Alps, drawn back time and time again to Pointe des Mossettes and Morzine Bike Park.

They say that your customers can be your greatest advocates.  That’s why I decided to turn the very first blog on my new website over to Darren, who recently came exploring the eastern Brecon Beacons on two wheels with me.

Reading the ride report he sent me afterwards, I’ll let you decide if this was a good idea.  To be fair, I had picked a route that I hope would provide some challenge (tick!), some fantastic scenery (tick!) and end with an undeniable sense of achievement (tick!) so I don’t think I got the route wrong.

But over to Darren to tell you about the ride in his own words…
